Cairo Ojougboh, who previously served as a Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has died, according to a report by SaharaReporters.
The news of his death was confirmed by a relative, who also mentioned that his body has been moved to a mortuary.
Ojuogboh, who once served as a representative for the Ika Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007, tragically passed away while watching the penalty shootout between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Wednesday, during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Additionally, he recently held the position of Director of Projects on the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Born on September 8, 1959, in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Ojuogboh was a medical doctor and the Chairman and Founder of the Ojougboh Foundation.
He was affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and had previously contested for a gubernatorial position.
