In a tragic incident late Sunday night, suspected terrorists launched an attack on the Ambe community within the Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of six people and injuries to eight others. The injured have been promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for necessary treatment.

Efforts to contact Mansir Hassan, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, were unsuccessful, leaving many details about the incident and subsequent security measures unclear as of now.

Daniel Amos, a federal lawmaker representing the Jema’a/Sanga federal constituency, confirmed the distressing news in a statement issued on Monday. Expressing deep sorrow over the attack, Amos described the incident as a cruel attempt to destabilize the peace and security of the local community and the state at large.

He vehemently condemned the violence and appealed for calm and peace among the residents, urging them to maintain communal harmony despite the challenging times. Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Amos called on security agencies to swiftly take action to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible for the carnage, emphasizing the importance of bringing the perpetrators to justice to prevent future attacks.

Amos reiterated his commitment as a representative to not only foster development in the constituency but also ensure the safety and security of its people. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed, as well as to the broader community of the Arak chiefdom and the officials of Sanga LGA and the Kaduna State government. Lastly, he offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured victims.

This attack underscores the ongoing security challenges in Kaduna State, where acts of banditry and terrorism have disrupted the lives of countless citizens. The call for a robust response to such threats is now more pressing than ever, as community leaders, government officials, and security agencies grapple with finding lasting solutions to the pervasive violence.
