Troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have intensified counter-terrorism operations in Borno and Yobe States, recording multiple successes against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents, The Bureau News reports.
Heavy Casualties for Terrorists in Borno
On 22 August, troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade repelled a night attack on their Forward Operating Base in Kumshe, Borno State.
With support from Nigerian Air Force precision strikes, the terrorists suffered devastating losses. Over 20 bodies, including dismembered remains from bombardments, were later discovered in shallow graves. Several weapons were also recovered during the exploitation phase.
Firefight at Dipchari Junction
That same day, Sector 1 troops launched an offensive operation at Dipchari near Banki Junction in Bama LGA. Following a fierce firefight, several terrorists were neutralised.

Yobe Operation with CJTF
On 23 August, Sector 2 troops, working in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), carried out a long-range tactical operation around Ndoksa, near Buni Gari, Yobe State.
The mission led to the neutralisation of more terrorists and the recovery of:

Sustained Pressure on Terrorists
Military sources confirmed that these coordinated operations have further denied insurgents freedom of action, disrupted logistics chains, and degraded their firepower across the Northeast.
The Defence Headquarters commended the troops for their gallantry and urged them to sustain the tempo until peace and stability are fully restored in the region.
