AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS – Rapper Nicki Minaj has been detained by police in Amsterdam after officers accused her of carrying drugs. The incident occurred just before her scheduled performance at Co-op Live in Manchester today, May 25. Minaj took to social media to share videos of her encounter with the police, expressing concerns that the detention might cause her to miss her concert.

In the video shared on her social media accounts, the “Super Bass” singer vehemently denied possessing any contraband. A police officer mentioned their intention to take Minaj into custody for “carrying drugs.” Minaj, visibly distressed, responded, “I’m not going in there. I need a lawyer present.”

The officer acknowledged Minaj’s scheduled performance in Manchester and assured her they would try to expedite the process to get her there as soon as possible. Minaj questioned, “Oh, so I’m under arrest?” while officers repeatedly instructed her to stop filming.

In a follow-up video, Minaj is seen seated inside a vehicle, conversing with a uniformed man, identified as her pilot, about the officers’ plans to search all her bags. “Why didn’t you guys search it before they went on the plane?” she asked. The pilot explained that the previous officer was skeptical of Minaj’s claims and was angered by her filming the incident.

Minaj later posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the officials claimed to have found marijuana in her belongings and subsequently confiscated her bags.

The videos of her encounter have since gone viral, drawing significant attention and sparking discussions among her fans and followers.
