Lagos, Nigeria – Security operatives in Lagos have launched an active manhunt for two women, Adeola Adebogun and Yetunde Biodun, who are reportedly wanted in connection with an alleged same-sex relationship, assault, and evidence tampering.

According to a statement obtained by The Bureau News from law enforcement sources, the incident allegedly took place at Adeola’s residence on 2 Alhaja Sekinat Street, Fadeyi, where the duo was reportedly discovered in a compromising situation by a concerned resident, Mr. Olumide Oni.

Resident Allegedly Assaulted While Attempting to Record

Police reports indicate that Mr. Oni attempted to record the scene with his mobile phone, which allegedly prompted a physical confrontation with the women. He claimed that during the scuffle, they assaulted him, damaged his phone, and disposed of it in a dumpster to destroy evidence.

“The altercation resulted in injuries to the complainant,” a police officer familiar with the case confirmed to The Bureau News.

The women were invited for questioning in April 2025, after which charges of assault, stealing, evidence destruction, and refusing lawful arrest were filed.

Defendants Granted Bail, Fail to Appear in Court

While Adeola and Yetunde were initially granted bail following their arraignment, authorities said the pair have failed to appear in court since then. Their absence has now prompted security agencies to declare them wanted and intensify efforts to locate and apprehend them.

Lagos State Police Command assured the public that the search is ongoing and called for information from the public that could lead to their arrest.

Legal Implications and Public Concern

This case has sparked discussions around privacy, legal boundaries in personal conduct, and human rights, especially within the framework of Nigeria’s legal stance on same-sex relationships.

The Bureau News will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as police investigations continue.
