The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has cautioned President Bola Tinubu, forecasting a significant electoral loss in 2027 if his administration persists with “anti-people policies.”
During a press briefing in Kano State on Thursday, the NNPP’s Kano State Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, criticized Tinubu for implementing policies that have distanced Nigerians since he took office on May 29, 2023.
“Given your unwelcoming policies towards the masses and your position on these issues, you should brace yourself for a loss in the upcoming general elections.” “You either change them, or we Nigerians will come together to change you,” Dungurawa stated.
He conveyed assurance in the NNPP’s capacity to secure triumph in all 36 states, as well as the presidential position, in the upcoming elections.
Dungurawa further condemned Tinubu’s policy direction, asserting, “From the podium on May 29, 2023, President Tinubu began to unveil policies detrimental to the masses as if Nigerians had offended him.” He has continued to impose such unwelcoming policies on us even now.
He assured Nigerians that the NNPP, led by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is ready to provide an alternative form of governance.
“Given these challenges and numerous others intentionally imposed by the APC-led government, it is only a matter of time.” “We will definitely make sure that Tinubu is out in 2027 and Kwankwaso, a genuine democrat, takes over,” Dungurawa stated.
Dungurawa revealed the expanding influence of the NNPP, highlighting the establishment of offices and party structures throughout states and local governments across the country.
He characterized this expansion as proof of the party’s preparedness to obtain both state and federal roles in 2027.
“The NNPP achieved significant successes in 2024 and is poised to accomplish even greater things in 2025,” he stated.
Recognizing the advancements in Kano State under the leadership of the NNPP, Dungurawa remarked, “We are fortunate to have a governor who is guided by faith and has transformed Kano State in areas such as infrastructure, empowerment, and human development.”
“Kano is now positioned to compete effectively with any modern city around the world, particularly due to the advanced facilities accessible in both urban and rural regions.”
Dungurawa voiced worries regarding the purported intentions of the Nigerian government to establish a one-party system, labeling it as the foremost challenge confronting the NNPP.
