audi Arabia has strongly condemned an Israeli strike that resulted in the deaths of at least 10 Palestinians and injured 20 others at the Abu Asi school in Gaza City’s Shati refugee camp.
This school, operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), was providing shelter to displaced families.
The incident is part of a broader pattern of violence in the region, with similar attacks targeting UNRWA-affiliated schools, such as Al-Razi School in the Nuseirat refugee camp and the UNRWA Boys’ Prep School ‘A’ in Rafah.
These incidents have sparked widespread concern and condemnation from international organizations and governments.
UNRWA is the main agency that has been procuring and distributing aid in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry reiterates the Kingdom’s rejection of Israeli’s continued occupation.
The statement reads: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the continued systematic targeting by Israeli occupation forces of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), its facilities, and workers, the latest of which was the bombing of Abu Asi school in the Gaza Strip.
“The Ministry reiterates the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of the Israeli occupation’s continued targeting of civilians, relief, and humanitarian agencies amid the silence of the international community.
“The Kingdom calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the ongoing Israeli violations that increase the suffering endured by the Palestinian people and undermine the chances of achieving peace in the region.”
