At yesterday’s session of the Kogi State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, the counsel representing the Social Democratic Party (SDP) initiated proceedings by seeking the tribunal’s approval to submit the inspection report. Okutepa, conducting the presentation in a professional manner, introduced an inspection report from Okene, which included four critical pieces of evidence.
The submission faced opposition from representatives of INEC, Governor Ododo, and the APC, who challenged the admissibility of the report. Despite these objections, the tribunal ruled in favor of the SDP and its candidate, Muri, allowing the documents to be admitted as evidence and officially labeling them as Exhibits P 001-P112 for Okene Local Government Area (LGA) exclusively.
The tribunal has scheduled to reconvene today, March 1, 2024, to continue the hearing. The session will also involve the review and potential admittance of additional documents from the SDP and Muri related to Adavi, Okehi, Ogori Magogo, Ajaokuta, and Lokoja LGAs.
Stay tuned for more on this.
