Abuja, Nigeria – In response to circulating reports, an aide to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has clarified that the governor did not attend the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum Gala Night held in Jalingo, Taraba State.

The aide, who reached out to The Bureau Newspaper on Saturday, stated that Governor Ododo, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was in Jalingo solely to attend the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas.

The clarification comes after a social media post by the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, sparked speculation and confusion regarding Governor Ododo’s presence at the event. In his post, Fintiri had shared photos from the PDP Governors Forum Gala Night, which included an image of Governor Ododo, leading many to believe that the APC governor had attended the PDP gathering.

However, Governor Ododo’s aide has refuted these claims, emphasizing that the governor’s visit to Jalingo was strictly personal and had no political undertones. The aide explained that Ododo’s presence was to honor the invitation to the wedding ceremony of Governor Kefas’s daughter, and not to participate in any PDP-related activities.

“We want to make it clear that Governor Usman Ododo did not attend the PDP Governors Forum meeting or Gala Night. He was in Jalingo purely to attend the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Governor Agbu Kefas, which is a personal and family event,” the aide stated.

This clarification is expected to put to rest any misconceptions about Governor Ododo’s involvement in the PDP event, reaffirming his commitment to the APC and his role as the duly elected governor of Kogi State, following his recent affirmation by the Supreme Court.
