Lokoja, Nigeria Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has called on the state’s youths to reject any participation in the planned October 1st protest. In a recent video address, the governor appealed to the youth to exercise self-restraint and avoid being misled by malicious elements whose aim is to destabilize the government of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of unity and peace in the current national landscape, urging the youth not to be swayed by those seeking to incite chaos.

Commitment to Salaries and Farmers’ Welfare

For the first time in many years, Kogi State is witnessing remarkable strides in governance under Governor Ododo’s leadership. In a move that has brought relief to many, the state government now pays salaries in full, and notably, payments are regularly made on the 22nd or 23rd of each month. This development has been widely applauded by civil servants, who had previously struggled with delayed and partial payments.

In addition to prompt salary disbursements, Kogi State farmers are experiencing a significant boost in agricultural productivity, thanks to the transparent distribution of fertilizer led by the Ododo administration. The fertilizer distribution exercise, spearheaded by Mr. Otaru, an SA to the governor on Agriculture and Hon. Honorius Arome, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Farm Input, has been a game-changer for local farmers.

For the first time, the distribution process was conducted in an open and transparent manner, a move that earned praise from the farming community. Farmers across the state expressed their gratitude for the government’s efforts, describing the exercise as a breath of fresh air that will undoubtedly improve agricultural yields and contribute to food security in Kogi State.

Applause from the Farming Community

Many farmers, who had previously faced challenges in accessing crucial farm inputs, expressed joy at the efficient and fair distribution process. The initiative, they said, reflects the governor’s commitment to promoting agricultural development and improving the welfare of farmers.

One farmer from Dekina Local Government Area said, “This is the first time we have seen such a transparent process in the distribution of fertilizer. We are truly grateful to Governor Ododo and his team for ensuring that the inputs reach the right hands.”

A New Era of Good Governance

Governor Ododo’s administration has been characterized by decisive actions aimed at improving the standard of living for Kogi State residents. In just a short time, the government has not only ensured the prompt payment of salaries but has also addressed critical sectors such as agriculture, which plays a vital role in the state’s economy.

As the state continues to make strides under Ododo’s leadership, Kogi residents remain optimistic about the future, with hopes that the government’s transparency and efficiency will extend to other sectors.
