Finland Opens Application Portal for Seasonal Work Permits, Offering Opportunities for Nigerian and Foreign Workers

The Finnish Immigration Service has officially opened applications for the Finland Seasonal Work Permit 2025, allowing foreign workers, including Nigerians, to secure temporary employment in the country across key sectors such as agriculture, forestry, and tourism.

This new program presents an exciting opportunity for migrant workers to work in Finland for up to nine months within a 12-month period, contributing to the country’s workforce during the peak seasons.

Types of Seasonal Work Permits

There are two primary types of seasonal work permits for which applicants can apply:

1. Seasonal Work Visa (Up to 3 Months)
   Applicants from countries requiring a visa must apply for a seasonal work visa through the nearest Finnish embassy. Workers from visa-exempt countries can apply directly for a seasonal work certificate through the Finnish Immigration Service.

2. Residence Permit for Seasonal Work (3 to 9 Months)

• Minimum Wage: Workers must earn at least €1,430 (N2.2 million) per month, unless a collective agreement dictates otherwise.
