Nigeria Former Minister of Health, Arc. (Chief) Gabriel Yakubu Aduku, FNIA, PPNIA, Dies at age 80.

Gabriel Adukwu, a prominent unionist, democracy advocate, and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),

FNIA, PPNIA, OON, the previous health minister, has passed away.

According to sources, he was born on Thursday, February 3, 1944, in Anyigba, Dekina L.G.A. of Kogi State, to the family of Aduku Aguye Aga of the Ameh Ohiga clan. He passed away two weeks ago while traveling for medical treatment in the US.

During his tenure as President of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) from 1992 to 1997, he fostered the growth of a robust and virtuous organization that leads the Nigerian building industry in terms of member knowledge, professional credibility, and public and government respect.

One of his most significant accomplishments as ARCON President was getting the Councils of both ARCON and NIA to actively start monitoring architecture practices across the nation in order to put an end to any potential quacks. On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, in their National Headquarters in Kaduna, the National Executive Council of the ACF confirmed his selection as the organization’s leader of the pan-northern socio-political organization, the Arewa Consultative Forum.

Following a meeting, Mallam Bukar Zarmar, the Secretary of the ACF Leadership Selection Committee, announced to reporters that Chief Audu Ogbe, the outgoing Chairman, had been replaced by the new Chairman.
