The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly denied claims circulating in the media that it has granted automatic tickets to all its serving members in the National Assembly ahead of future elections.
In a statement issued by Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, the party described the report as “fake news” and urged the public to disregard it entirely.
“Our attention has been drawn to a purported breaking news report tagged ‘APC Grants Automatic Tickets to All National Assembly Members’ in viral circulation,” Morka stated.
“The report is FAKE NEWS and should be disregarded in its entirety as it did not emanate from our great Party.”
Morka emphasized that the information was of “mischievous origin” and cautioned party members and the public against accepting it as credible.
He reiterated that the party has not issued any official guidelines or procedures for the selection of its candidates for upcoming elections, emphasizing that due process and internal democracy will guide the candidate selection process when the time comes.
The APC reaffirmed its commitment to transparent and inclusive political processes in line with its constitution and the Electoral Act.
