Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has stirred controversy after hinting at a romantic relationship with Edo State lawmaker, Hon. Natasha Osawaru.
The revelation follows reports of his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, with the singer suggesting he is ready to take things further with Osawaru.
His surprise appearance at the Edo State House of Assembly during plenary on Monday, coupled with a viral video of them at a Lagos nightclub, intensified speculation.
On Tuesday, 2Baba took to Instagram to address the swirling rumours, sharing a video post captioned:
“To Whom It May Kwansighn. #I don yarn my truth. Feel free to continue alleging. We shall all be alright.”
Dismissing claims that Osawaru played a role in his split with Annie, he stated:
“Allegedly, I have been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.”
However, 2Baba then dropped a bombshell, adding:
“Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her.”
Following his declaration, Natasha Osawaru became the top-trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) by Wednesday morning, with social media buzzing over the news.
Who is Natasha Osawaru?
Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, often called “Honourable Natasha”, is a lawyer, fashion entrepreneur, and politician currently serving as the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, representing Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
She was born on November 14, 1994, and hails from Egor Local Government Area, Edo State.
Her academic qualifications include a law degree from Igbinedion University and a Master’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Design from the Parsons School of Design, New York.
In 2024, Osawaru made headlines after she was asked to leave the Assembly floor for wearing dark sunglasses and allegedly dressing inappropriately, as reported by The Nigerian Lawyer.
While Annie Idibia has not publicly confirmed the separation, many social media users and celebrities have criticised 2Baba’s public declaration about Osawaru, fueling further debate on the matter.
