Usman Jauro Calls for Stronger Federal Engagement in Taraba Central

Usman Bobboi Jauro, a rising political voice in Taraba Central, has urged the Federal Government to deepen its engagement in the Gashaka/Kurmi/Sardauna Federal Constituency, citing vast untapped opportunities that could transform the region.
Jauro made the call during a courtesy visit to the Lamido of Gashaka, Alhaji Dr. Zubairu Hamman-Gabdo, as part of his ongoing consultation tour ahead of the 2027 political season. The visit, he said, was centred on understanding community needs and strengthening relationships with traditional leaders.
Addressing the Lamido, Jauro noted that the constituency is rich in both human and natural resources but continues to suffer from limited federal visibility. He emphasised that improved collaboration with federal ministries and agencies would accelerate development in areas such as infrastructure, education, security, and economic empowerment.
“Our people are resilient, peaceful and full of potential,” he said. “What we require now is consistent engagement with federal ministries, agencies and partners who can help us unlock the development our communities deserve. Taraba Central must take its rightful place in the national conversation.”
He clarified that his tour was not a political declaration but a listening mission designed to gather insights from community stakeholders. According to him, traditional rulers remain the custodians of grassroots aspirations, making their guidance critical to long-term development planning.
Responding, the Lamido of Gashaka commended the initiative, saying ongoing engagement with traditional institutions strengthens governance and improves understanding of local needs.
Although Jauro has not officially announced his intention to contest in 2027, his movements have stirred speculation about his readiness to offer fresh representation for Taraba Central. Many supporters argue that his development-driven message aligns with rising expectations for stronger advocacy in Abuja.
Across the constituency, residents continue to express optimism that voices like Jauro’s could help attract long-overdue federal attention to Taraba Central.
