In what could be described as a massive loss, the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) frontier from the Ofu local government area of Kogi State has parted ways with the party ahead of the November 11th governorship election in Kogi State.

Paul Odu Akowe, who enjoys the fellowship of hundreds of thousands of youths across the state, particularly in Ofu local government, where he hails from, has drawn the curtains to an end after 24 years of working aggressively for the success of the party.

The political bigwig, who has in recent times demonstrated how strong he is in the grassroots, tendered his resignation on the 28th day of August 2023, adding that he and several other Excos have resolved to quit the party.

Paul Odu Akowe, who has over the years stamped his authority in the grassroots, thanked the party leaders, former governors, as well as the esteem followers of the party for their cooperation during their over two decades of togetherness.

I have to go, says the Ofu-born political icon. I have given my all to the party, and the party, in return, gave me the platform to demonstrate my capacity, which I did to the best of my knowledge. But at the moment, I have resolved to leave now that the ovation is loud. He concluded.
