The Nigeria Police Force has announced that suspected terrorists have carried out a new attack on the community of Agojeju-Odo in Kogi State’s Omala Local Government Area.

In a phone interview with journalists on Friday morning, SP William Aya, the state police command’s spokesperson, affirmed this.

Many individuals were killed when the gunmen broke into the village early on Friday morning, according to reports.

A neighbourhood source further stated that during the attack, the gunmen set fire to multiple homes and other important assets.

In an update on the event, SP William Aya revealed that Bethrand Onuoha, the commissioner of state police, had sent tactical squads to the scene.

“Yes, there was an attack in the village in Omala,” he stated. The enforcement team and other security agencies have been dispatched by the CP.

SaharaReporters recently detailed how some thugs, purportedly working for the Kogi State Government led by the All Progressives Congress (APC), attacked supporters and members of Mr. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic party’s candidate for governor in the Kogi State election scheduled for November 11, 2023.

SaharaReporters learned that masked thugs broke into SDP members’ homes in Okene and set fire to everything they owned because they were allegedly planning to testify against Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo in the ongoing Kogi State Governorship Election Tribunal or preparing for it.
