The Nigerian Senate reconvened on Tuesday after a 10-week annual recess, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio presiding over the first plenary session since July 24.
The Bureau News observed that the resumption attracted a full turnout of lawmakers, including the embattled Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan representing Kogi Central, who made her return to the red chamber following a six-month suspension.

Addressing colleagues at the plenary, Senate President Akpabio challenged lawmakers to recommit themselves to discipline, accountability, and purposeful governance. He reminded them that Nigerians expect tangible outcomes, not excuses.
“To the citizens of Nigeria, we hear you. You asked us not for excuses, but for results. We will remain accountable and responsive,” Akpabio declared.
