President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has been named as one of the top 10 nominees for the “Best Leaders on Earth” by World Affairs, an esteemed international organization that recognizes influential leaders worldwide, The Bureau Newspaper can confirm.

Tinubu, born on March 29, 1952, assumed office as Nigeria’s 16th President on May 29, 2023. Prior to this, he served as the Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, where he was credited with transformative policies that set Lagos on a path of economic and infrastructural growth.

President Tinubu is married to Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, who is also a seasoned public servant. She served as the First Lady of Lagos State during Tinubu’s governorship and subsequently represented Lagos Central as a Senator from 2011 to 2023.
