Ododo Flags Off 30 New 500kVA Transformers Across Kogi’s Three Senatorial Districts
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has launched the distribution and installation of 30 units of 500kVA transformers across Kogi East, Kogi Central and Kogi West. Speaking at Government House, Lokoja, the Governor said the programme is designed to strengthen public power supply, spur local enterprise, and lift living standards statewide.

Ododo described the rollout as a practical step in his service agenda. “I’m proud to say our administration is replicating the good work of President Tinubu,” he noted, adding that fair and balanced allocation would guide where each unit goes. According to the Governor, improved electricity will help small businesses cut generator costs, extend clinic hours and cold-chain reliability, and make classrooms more functional with stable power for labs and digital tools. “We’ll continue to work tirelessly so Kogi State makes progress and citizens benefit from our policies,” Ododo said, thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for federal support.
Rural energy push enters Phase One
The Commissioner for Rural and Energy Development, Hon. (Engr.) Muhammed Abdulmutalib, called the flag-off a “landmark occasion” that aligns with the administration’s rural productivity goals. He said Phase One would be implemented equitably across the three districts, with subsequent phases to deepen access in underserved communities.
