Warning to Civil Servants

Speaking during the swearing-in of Austin Hart as a permanent secretary on Friday, the governor said his administration would not tolerate compromise or illegality in the public service. He stressed that civil servants and public officers should uphold due process at all times.

“My administration will not ask any civil servant or public officer to compromise themselves. But anyone who goes against the civil service rules will be punished accordingly,” Governor Fubara stated.

First Appointment Since Reinstatement

Austin Hart’s appointment marks Governor Fubara’s first since his reinstatement after a six-month state of emergency. The governor praised Hart for his professionalism and for resisting pressures to engage in illegal activities while serving the state.
