Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has slammed Ruben Amorim’s tenure at Manchester United, describing it as “a disaster for both the club and the manager.” His comments followed United’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford, a result that leaves the club languishing in 14th place in the Premier League with just 34 points from 33 games under the Portuguese coach.

Carragher: United and Amorim Must Move On

Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher argued that United’s hierarchy are reluctant to dismiss Amorim because it would expose yet another failed decision at the top.

“This has been a disaster for Manchester United but also for Ruben Amorim. What he did at Sporting Lisbon was fantastic. He looked like the next big thing as a manager. But bringing a manager like that in with the system he plays, I don’t think ever suited a club like Manchester United with its traditions.”

Carragher insisted that “the quicker they make the decision on the manager, the better for everybody,” emphasizing that United need to accept the reality and bring in a coach more suited to the squad.
