Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has effectively refused to play again for Atalanta in a bold push to secure a summer move to Inter Milan, The Bureau News has learned.
According to sources close to the player, Lookman has informed the Serie A club that he has no intention of featuring in any competitive fixture for La Dea, as he looks to force through a transfer to Inter before the current window closes.
Inter Milan have already seen two transfer bids rejected by Atalanta, but the Italian champions are reportedly preparing a third offer, which is expected to be very close to Atalanta’s asking price.
Despite clear interest from several clubs outside Italy, Lookman is understood to be focused exclusively on a move to the San Siro, with suggestions that Atalanta would prefer to sell the winger abroad.
Atalanta are yet to issue an official response to the player’s reported stance.
The 26-year-old enjoyed an outstanding 2023/24 campaign, scoring 17 goals in all competitions and attracting interest from top clubs across Europe.
