The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police has confirmed that no arrest has been made following the reported attack on the convoy of former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
Addressing journalists after a security meeting with the state governor in Birnin Kebbi, Commissioner of Police Sani explained that the case remains under investigation. He stressed that security agencies are monitoring the situation closely.
Political Tensions and Security Concerns
According to the commissioner, the governor convened the meeting in response to disturbances caused by suspected political thugs around the GRA axis. He added that certain political parties have been defying restrictions on the use of sirens and campaign activities, despite a clear ban.
“We want to invite political parties for dialogue because the ban on political campaigns has not been lifted,” CP Sani stated. “Security operatives have been deployed to enforce the directive, and we appeal to political groups to remain calm.”

The commissioner reiterated that anyone found guilty of orchestrating the convoy attack or breaching security regulations will face the full weight of the law.
