Honourable Umar Na’amore, a member of the Kebbi House of Assembly representing Argungu Constituency, has expressed his constituents’ satisfaction with the ongoing N7.2 billion township road dualization project in the area.
Reacting to claims published by Sahara Reporters on March 18, which alleged the use of substandard materials in the construction of the 6.4-kilometer Argungu dual carriageway, Na’amore vehemently denied the allegations.
“We are dismayed and dumbfounded by the unfounded accusation made by Sahara Reporters. To set the record straight, we in Argungu LGA have never had it so good in terms of the dividends of democracy under Governor Idris,” Na’amore said in a statement on Friday in Argungu.
He emphasized that the ongoing N7.2 billion dual carriageway, along with the rehabilitated Argungu General Hospital and the construction of a Mega School, are examples of the progress the community is seeing under Governor Idris’ leadership.
Na’amore explained that before the commencement of these projects, Governor Idris had strongly advised the assembly and local leaders to ensure strict adherence to specifications and contractual agreements. He added that he personally encouraged his constituents to monitor all ongoing projects to ensure quality and transparency.
“I have not observed any foul play or substandard materials in the execution of these projects. It baffles me where Sahara Reporters got their information from,” he stated.
The lawmaker concluded by labeling the publication as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish the hard-earned reputation of Governor Idris’ infrastructural development efforts in the state.
