Sporting Director of Enyimba FC, Mr. Ifeanyi Ekwueme, has dismissed reports claiming he was sacked by the Aba-based club, insisting that his departure was voluntary and honorable.
Speaking to clarify the circumstances surrounding his exit, Ekwueme stated that he was neither dismissed nor forced out by the club’s management.
“I wish to clearly state that my exit from Enyimba FC was entirely voluntary and honorable. I was not sacked, dismissed, or forced out of the club,” he said.
According to him, the decision followed careful consideration and was formally communicated to the club’s chairman.
“After careful reflection, I formally submitted my resignation to the chairman in good faith in order to attend to other personal and professional commitments,” Ekwueme added.
His clarification comes amid widespread speculation suggesting that the former Nigeria international was relieved of his duties by the club.
