According to Saudi Arabia, the Shawwal crescent has not been seen as of Monday, meaning that the fast will continue on Tuesday.

In addition, it stated that the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr, which ushers in a new Islamic month, would take place on Wednesday, April 10.

This revelation was revealed on the official Facebook page of Haramin, which serves as a global platform for the Muslim community.

Saudi Arabia did not see the crescent moon. Eid Al Fitr will thus be observed on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

“May Allah accept our siyām, qiyām, and a’māl, and may He grant us the opportunity to spend the remaining hours of this auspicious month doing good deeds. May He also grant us the blessing of many more healthy Ramadans.” “Āmīn,” it penned.

Muslims in Nigeria, however, are anticipated to hold off until later in the day, when Sokoto’s Sultan and President General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sa’ad Abubakar, will make a declaration.

According to The PUNCH, the Sultan urged Muslims nationwide to keep an eye out for the new moon, which signifies the start of Shawwal 1445 AH, on Sunday.

In a statement, Sambo Wali, the Chairman of the Sultanate Council’s Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs in Sokoto, advised people to swiftly notify the appropriate authorities if they spot the new moon.

According to the announcement, Muslims are urged to begin searching for the new moon of Shawwal 1445AH on Monday and to report any sightings to the head of the closest village or district so that the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, can be informed.
