Birnin Kebbi – The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar, has urged citizens of Kebbi State to embrace peaceful coexistence and unity, regardless of religious or ethnic differences, as a foundation for building a prosperous society.

Delivering his Eid-el-Kabir message, the revered monarch emphasized that genuine brotherhood among citizens remains vital for social harmony and collective growth.

Also speaking at the Central Eid prayer ground in Birnin Kebbi, the Chief Imam, Sheikh Muhammad Yahaya Limanci, underscored that no meaningful development can occur without sustained peace. He urged the faithful to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and communal love.

In his remarks, Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir and called for reflection on the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity embedded in the celebration. He expressed hope that these virtues would guide Kebbi State’s journey toward progress and inclusive development.

The Deputy Governor also advised residents, particularly those in flood-prone riverine areas, to consider relocating to higher ground to avert possible disaster during the rainy season. He cited the recent experience in Niger State as a cautionary tale.

Senator Abubakar further extended warm congratulations to the Emir of Gwandu on his recent legal victory at the Supreme Court in Abuja, praying for continued peace and stability in the emirate.
