A police constable attached to the Mada Station Division of the Nasarawa State Command has tragically taken his own life while on duty in the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area. The officer, identified as Dogara Akolo-Moses, reportedly entered a private room and shot himself.
According to eyewitness accounts, the gunshot startled fellow officers who were on duty. Upon rushing to the scene, they discovered the officer lying lifeless in a pool of blood with his firearm beside him.
A source revealed that the officer’s colleagues, who were stationed outside the apartment at the time, heard the gunshot and quickly entered the room, only to find him unresponsive on the floor.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Nasarawa State Command, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is currently underway to uncover the circumstances behind the officer’s tragic action.
