Tragedy struck in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on Sunday, as the lifeless body of a man was discovered near an electricity transformer.

According to reports, the victim met his untimely demise while attempting to vandalize the facility with a group of accomplices, who fled the scene and remain at large.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the surviving vandals made off with crucial electricity cables from the transformer, leaving behind the body of their fallen partner in crime.

The police have confirmed the incident, saying their personnel evacuated the remains of the victim on Sunday morning.

Spokesperson for the state police command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said, “The Adamawa state police command has today 19/1/2025 found a yet-to-be identified person at electric transformer along Ribadu square around 0600hrs, while trying to vandalize some electrical cables.

“The body is evacuated to hospital for expert opinion.

“Investigation is ongoing for more recoveries and more details.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, warned people to keep off from electrical transformers and report anyone seen around for immediate action.”
