Edison Research, a firm specialized in providing Audio Research, Election Research, and Market Research, has projected that the Republican candidate in the ongoing US election, former President Donald Trump, will win Pennsylvania with its 19 electoral votes.

Pennsylvania is considered critical to winning the US White House, and Reuters reports that voting has been extremely close in recent elections.

It has also been reported that redistricting since the 2020 election which Trump lost to President Joe Biden, reduced the state’s number of electoral college votes from 20 to 19.

Meanwhile, it probably looks like the outcome of the voting this year may take days to be known.

However, Trump opened up a significant lead in the ongoing presidential election on Wednesday, leaving supporters of Democrat candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, hoping for an 11th-hour turnabout, according to Reuters.

Fox News has also projected that Trump has won the battleground state of Pennsylvania, which would all but close off Harris’ chances of winning the U.S. presidency.

Trump was well on his way to winning the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the White House, while Harris was hoping some late-counting states could turn the tide.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Trump on Tuesday secured the highest votes in the battleground states of North Carolina and Georgia.

Recall that Edison Research had projected that Trump would win the battleground states of Georgia and North Carolina, which he won.

The national exit poll of voters conducted by Edison Research underscored what public opinion surveys had long shown, which is that voters are in a bad mood and have been for some time.

Reuters reports that three-fourths (¾) of voters surveyed by Edison Research said the country was going in a negative direction.

Of those voters, 61% went for Trump, and of the voters who called themselves “angry,” 71% backed the Republican.

According to the poll, voters who said the economy was their top concern broke 79%-20% for Trump.

Voters who believe abortion should be a legal procedure in most instances only backed Harris 51%-47%, suggesting Trump’s efforts to blur his position may have partially negated one of her largest advantages.

Recall that Trump opposed a federal abortion ban but said that states are free to pass laws as restrictive as they choose.

He also became a vocal advocate for having insurers cover the cost of in-vitro fertilization treatments.
