London, England – Thomas Tuchel has reached an agreement to become the new manager of the England national football team. The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach has finalized terms with the Football Association (FA), and a contract is currently being prepared.

Tuchel was a strong candidate on Manchester United’s shortlist since June but ultimately, the club decided to retain Erik ten Hag as their head coach. Following discussions over the past 24 hours, Lee Carsley is set to vacate his role with the England team, allowing Tuchel to step in.

The initial approach to Tuchel occurred in July, at which point he expressed interest. An official announcement regarding his appointment is expected to be made soon.
