Delta Entrepreneur Publishes Open Letter Asking Tinubu for ₦12bn Loan to Build Housing Hubs
A Delta State entrepreneur, Emmanuel Efayeta Kuejubola, has taken the unusual step of publishing an open loan application to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, requesting ₦12 billion to kick-start a housing-and-agriculture settlement project. In the newspaper letter sighted by The Bureau News, Kuejubola frames the ask as a private-sector push to ease housing shortages, create jobs, and expand food production.

Kuejubola says the initial facility would fund the acquisition and documentation of 400 acres of land in Delta State and the development of an initial 400 two-bedroom bungalows, with a long-term plan for 3,000 housing units in phases. He adds that each “new settlement” would be designed to tap local agricultural potential, pairing homes with productive farmlands and basic services.
Jobs, education pledges and a 36-month payback

He positions the Tinubu request as a call for bold action, invoking historical references and arguing that Nigeria’s land and people can power self-sufficiency if backed by capital.

The proposal arrives amid rising demand for affordable housing and ongoing debates about how to finance large-scale social infrastructure. While open letters can bring attention to ideas, financing of this size typically involves feasibility studies, land title verification, environmental and social impact assessments, security of tenure for homeowners, and transparent repayment structures. No official response from the Presidency had been made public at press time.
