Lokoja, Kogi State – Hon. Honorius Arome, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Farm Inputs, has called on opposition politicians in Kogi State to abandon their ambitions of contesting against the governor in the next election, stating that Ododo’s performance has already secured his re-election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hon. Arome declared that Governor Ododo’s leadership, developmental strides, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of Kogi people have earned him an automatic return to office. He urged the opposition to stop wasting their time and resources on a futile attempt to unseat a governor who, according to him, enjoys massive grassroots support.
“Governor Ododo has done in a short time what many leaders could not achieve in years. His policies on security, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and youth empowerment have touched every part of the state. The people of Kogi have already made up their minds—his return to office is non-negotiable,” Arome said.
Opposition Should Join Hands with Ododo Instead of Fighting a Lost Battle
Hon. Arome further advised opposition parties to drop their political battles and work with Governor Ododo in the interest of the state’s progress. He emphasized that the governor is focused on uniting Kogi and delivering good governance, and those who truly care about the people should align with his administration instead of engaging in fruitless political struggles.
“The opposition should rethink their stance. Instead of chasing shadows and fighting a battle they can’t win, they should come and join hands with Governor Ododo to move Kogi forward. The people are seeing the good work, and no amount of political propaganda can change that,” he added.
Ododo’s Achievements Speak for Themselves
Highlighting some of Governor Ododo’s key achievements, Hon. Arome pointed to:
- Security enhancement, including sustained efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of all Kogi residents.
- Massive infrastructure development, with roads, schools, and healthcare projects progressing across the state.
- Agricultural support for farmers, ensuring food security and economic growth.
- Youth and women empowerment initiatives, providing job opportunities and financial support to entrepreneurs.
According to Arome, these achievements have cemented the governor’s popularity among the people, making any opposition challenge an exercise in futility.
“Kogi Has Moved On; Ododo’s Victory is Sure”
The SSA maintained that Governor Ododo is the people’s choice and will remain so beyond the next election. He called on Kogi citizens to remain steadfast in their support for the administration, assuring them that more progress is on the way.
“Kogi has moved on, and Governor Ododo is leading the way to a brighter future. Those still thinking of contesting against him should save themselves the embarrassment, because the people have already decided. His re-election is sealed by performance, and no amount of opposition politics can change that,” Arome concluded.
