In a significant move to support the less fortunate during the holy month of Ramadan, the Sokoto State Government announced an allocation of N6.7 billion towards a comprehensive feeding program. This initiative is aimed at distributing essential grains and providing meals across various feeding centers throughout the state.
During the official launch of the grain distribution, Governor Ahmed Aliyu revealed plans to extend support to 18,400 orphans and destitute individuals across Sokoto. Each beneficiary is set to receive bags of rice and millet, complemented by a financial aid of N5000.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, expressed his appreciation towards the state government for continuing the tradition of the Ramadan feeding program. Highlighting the importance of the initiative, the Sultan pledged his full support to the governor’s endeavors aimed at enhancing the welfare of the state’s residents.
In his address, the Sultan urged affluent members of the community to demonstrate compassion and generosity towards those in need. The Ramadan feeding program represents a vital effort in fostering a spirit of community and solidarity, ensuring that the underprivileged can observe the holy month with dignity and comfort.
