Presidential Inauguration: President Tinubu Depart Nigeria for Senegal

Tuesday, April 2, 2024, sees President Bola Tinubu leave Abuja for Dakar, Senegal, to attend the inauguration of Senegal’s president-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

The Republic of Senegal invited the President to travel. According to a statement issued by the president’s spokeswoman, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu—who also serves as the chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government—will attend the inauguration at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday along with other regional leaders.

Along with other top government officials, the President will be accompanied on the tour by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.

After the inauguration is over, it is anticipated that the President would travel back to Nigeria.
