More than 200 prisoners freed from Boko Haram affiliation are scheduled to be released by the Nigerian Army.
During the height of the rebellion, the military arrested the detainees.
According to Daily Trust’s report, the Borno State Government would receive them so they can be properly reintegrated into society.
The state capital of Maiduguri, in Giwa Barracks, will host the ceremony on Tuesday morning.
Security personnel have cleared no fewer than 200 Boko Haram suspects of any involvement, and they will now be turned over to the Borno State Government for rehabilitation and reintegration.
“This morning (Tuesday) at 10:00 am at Giwa Barracks is when the handing over ceremony is scheduled to take place,” a source informed Daily Trust.
The state government’s designated detainees will be received by Prof. Tar Umar, who oversees internal security, and Zuwaira Gambo, the state commissioner for women’s affairs, according to the source.
