Pastor Paul Enenche Warns Against Online Loan Apps, Calls Them ‘Agents of the Devil’ | Nigeria News Today

The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has issued a strong warning to Nigerians against patronizing online loan platforms, describing them as “agents of the devil in covenant with the spirit of debt.”
Speaking during Sunday’s service in Abuja, Enenche lamented the growing cases of depression and suicide linked to the activities of loan apps across Nigeria.
“Many people have been deceived by the promise of quick financial relief,” he said. “But once they fall into the trap, they are subjected to harassment, intimidation, and embarrassment that sometimes push them into depression or even suicide.”

The cleric highlighted how victims are overwhelmed with threats, automated calls, and defamatory messages after taking such loans. He noted that some platforms even go as far as publishing fake obituaries and defamatory statements online to shame debtors.
Pastor Enenche urged Christians and Nigerians at large to resist the lure of easy money, stressing that loan apps were spiritually destructive.
“These things are demonic covenants with debt, and no child of God should have anything to do with them,” he declared.
His remarks come at a time when public outcry against unethical practices by online loan providers in Nigeria continues to grow, with many platforms accused of violating privacy rights and employing extreme measures to recover debts.
