Nigeria News Today: Kebbi Governor Donates Vehicles and Motorcycles to Military to Boost Security

The Bureau News reports that Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has donated six Hilux vehicles and 30 motorcycles to the Nigerian Army to strengthen operations against banditry and improve security in the state.
Support for Military Operations
Governor Idris presented the vehicles and motorcycles to Colonel Hussaini Rabi’u Toro of the 8 Division Tactical Command, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sustained logistical support for the military. He described security as a top priority for his government and pledged to extend similar donations to other security agencies in due course.
“Our people confirm that anytime they call on the Army, you respond without hesitation, which shows dedication to your duty. Likewise, whenever we seek air support, the Air Force responds promptly. We are also grateful to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff for deploying armoured vehicles to Kebbi,” Gov. Idris said.
Military’s Appreciation
In his response, Colonel Toro thanked the Governor for prioritizing security. He said the donation would greatly enhance the Army’s operational capacity and response to threats against law-abiding citizens.
“Sir, the Army appreciates this support which will enhance our operational capacity and response to any threat against lives and property of law-abiding citizens. We commend Your Excellency for your purposeful leadership and commitment to peace and stability in Kebbi State,” Toro stated.
Previous Security Investments
Governor Idris has previously provided significant resources to strengthen security across Kebbi State. Under his leadership, the government has donated over 100 Hilux vehicles to security agencies and 1,000 motorcycles to vigilantes to combat banditry and enhance surveillance operations.
