The Bureau News reports that Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, in advancing agricultural transformation and boosting food security in Nigeria.

Partnership for Agricultural Revolution

Governor Idris, while receiving members of the University’s Governing Board on a courtesy visit to Government House, Birnin Kebbi, emphasized that agriculture is the lifeline of Kebbi State’s economy. He stressed that collaboration with the institution would fast-track national food sufficiency efforts.

“We all know that Kebbi State is an agricultural state and this partnership will help us in achieving our set goals and objectives of national food security,” he said.

Resolving Land Issues

The governor directed the State Ministry of Lands to resolve the lingering land dispute affecting the university within two weeks and ensure due compensation is paid, saying this will pave the way for smooth development of agricultural projects.

University’s Commitment

Chairman of the Governing Council and Pro-Chancellor of the University, Hajiya Hazizat Raji, commended the governor for his hospitality and developmental strides. She assured that the university would collaborate fully with the Kebbi State Government in agricultural innovation to guarantee food security.

She added that such a partnership aligns with the government’s transformation agenda, particularly in enhancing food production capacity across Nigeria.
