A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the National Medical Association (NMA) to set up an investigation committee to assess the medical condition of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Court Orders Medical Report in 8 Days
Delivering a ruling, Justice James Omotosho directed the NMA to submit its findings to the court within eight days. The order follows concerns raised about Kanu’s health and the need for an independent medical evaluation.
No-Case Submission Overruled (Nigeria News Today)
In a separate ruling, Justice Omotosho dismissed Kanu’s no-case submission, stating that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against him. The judge ordered Kanu to enter his defense, stressing that the charges could not be struck out at this stage.
