Nigeria News Today: China to Build Africa’s First Insulin Production Facility in Nigeria

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has announced his country’s plan to establish Africa’s first local insulin production facility in Nigeria. He made the disclosure in Abuja on Wednesday during a reception marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Strengthening Nigeria-China Relations

At the event, Sen. Barau Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate, conveyed greetings from President Bola Tinubu to the Chinese government. Represented by Sen. Babangida Hussaini, Jibrin commended China’s transformation journey and its consistent contributions to strengthening bilateral ties with Nigeria.

Commitment to Strategic Partnership

Jibrin highlighted that in recent decades, Nigeria-China relations have blossomed into a comprehensive strategic partnership. He emphasized that this collaboration is not just based on agreements but has produced tangible results in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education, defence, trade, and investment.

“As legislators in Nigeria, we are committed to providing the enabling environment, legal frameworks, and oversight mechanisms to ensure that these partnerships remain transparent, sustainable, and impactful for the benefit of future generations,” Jibrin said.
