The former Ambassador-designate and current Executive Secretary of the Lake Chad Commission, Alhaji Muhammadu Nuhu, has expressed strong confidence in the capacity of the new Emir of Zuru, Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami (Sami Gomo III), to lead the emirate to greater heights.

In a congratulatory message dated September 13, 2025, and personally signed by him, Ambassador Nuhu, who also holds the traditional title of Sardaunan Zuru, praised the Emir’s humility, generosity, and long-standing record of selfless service.

“The weight of leadership can indeed be heavy, laden with expectations and challenges. Regardless of that, I am filled with immense confidence that you will navigate the intricate path with both wisdom and grace. I have no doubt that under your stewardship, the emirate will flourish and prosper, embracing a future filled with opportunities for all,” he said.

Ambassador’s Pledge of Support

Ambassador Nuhu pledged his personal support to the emirate, stating that in his role as Sardaunan Zuru, he would always provide guidance and assistance when needed.

“Together we can build upon the rich and vibrant legacy of our forefathers in fostering an environment that nurtures growth and unity,” he assured.

He also prayed for God’s continued protection and guidance for the Emir, adding:

“May your reign be filled with enduring success.”

Optimism Surrounds Emir’s Appointment

It will be recalled that Ambassador Nuhu was one of the three contenders for the emirship presented to Governor Nasir Idris by the kingmakers. The governor eventually approved the appointment of Alhaji Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami as the new Emir of Zuru.

The appointment has been widely welcomed with optimism, as many residents of Zuru and beyond hope that the Emir will usher in a new era of peace, unity, and development.
