Popular Nigerian radio personality, Chinedu Emmanuel, widely known as Nedu Wazobia, has officially stepped down as a host of The Honest Bunch Podcast following a heated controversy involving social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly called Verydarkman.
The Controversy
The dispute began when reality TV star Deeone appeared on The Honest Bunch Podcast and alleged that Verydarkman had an interest in men. Instead of addressing the claims directly, Verydarkman shifted focus to Nedu, leaking private conversations and making allegations about Nedu’s past relationships with certain women.
As the backlash intensified, Nedu announced his decision to step away from the podcast on Friday via Instagram, citing personal well-being, family concerns, and the integrity of the show as his reasons.
Nedu’s Statement
In his official statement, Nedu expressed gratitude for his time on the show but acknowledged that the controversy had taken a toll on him.
He wrote:
“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics.
But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll.
In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself.”
He further stated that he hoped stepping back would help end the negativity surrounding his name while allowing The Honest Bunch Podcast to continue thriving.

Created by Glitch Africa in 2022, The Honest Bunch Podcast has been a popular talk show known for its raw, unfiltered conversations. It features four main hosts: Nedu, Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne.
With Nedu’s exit, the future direction of the show remains uncertain, but it is expected that the remaining hosts will continue without him.
