Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Alhassan Yahaya on his election as the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). Yahaya emerged victorious during the NUJ’s triennial delegates’ conference held in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
In a statement released by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo described Yahaya as a distinguished media professional with a deep commitment to advancing the welfare of journalists across the country. He commended Yahaya’s inclusive approach during his campaign, which culminated in his resounding victory. The Governor encouraged the new NUJ President to continue fostering unity and inclusivity within the union while prioritizing the interests of its members.
Governor Ododo also celebrated the election of Alhaji Momoh Jimoh Adeiza, General Manager of Radio Nigeria Prime FM, Lokoja, as the Vice President of NUJ Zone D. He lauded Adeiza’s contributions to journalism and his consistent efforts in bringing recognition and pride to Kogi State.
The Governor conveyed his best wishes to the new NUJ President and the entire national executive committee, expressing confidence in their capacity to lead the union to greater heights.
