The Kebbi State Government has donated six operational vehicles to the Hisbah and Zakkat Boards to strengthen their activities and ensure effective service delivery across the state.
The official presentation took place on Monday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, where Governor Nasiru Idris personally handed over the keys to the leadership of the two Boards.
Governor Idris on Support for Religious Institutions
Governor Nasiru Idris emphasized that the donation reflects his administration’s commitment to equipping government agencies with the necessary tools and resources to carry out their duties effectively.
“This gesture aligns with our promise to create a conducive environment for religious institutions and agencies to thrive,” the governor stated.
He further expressed confidence that the vehicles would be used responsibly and productively. The governor also revealed that the Preaching Board would soon benefit from a similar allocation of vehicles.
Board Leaders Appreciate the Support
The keys were received on behalf of the agencies by Sheikh Umar Isah, Chairman of the Zakkat Board, and Architect Sani Aliyu, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs. Both expressed appreciation to the government for its continuous support to religious and humanitarian bodies.
