Kaduna-Abuja Train Derails at Jere, Passengers Safe

JERE, KADUNA – A train traveling from Kaduna to Abuja derailed at Jere, Kaduna, about an hour after its departure on Sunday morning. The train, carrying dozens of passengers, left Kaduna at approximately 8:05 am before three of its carriages skidded off the tracks.

Security personnel, including officers from the Nigeria Police and the Army, were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide assistance and ensure the safety of passengers.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has acknowledged the incident. According to Mrs. Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, NSIB, a go-team has been sent to the derailment site to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
