President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed appreciation towards the Minister of Interior, Hon (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for spearheading significant reforms within the ministry. During a meeting of the federal executive council, Tinubu noted that Tunji-Ojo’s strategic initiatives have notably alleviated the frustrations of numerous Nigerians. He highlighted that the Minister of Interior has been at the forefront of receiving positive feedback for the various reforms implemented by his leadership.
Tinubu underscored the impact of these reforms, stating they have begun to enhance Nigeria’s image internationally while also diminishing the discontent among Nigerians towards governmental processes.
Since taking office, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has achieved remarkable milestones within a short period, including the resolution of over 20,000 passport backlogs without incurring additional costs for the federal government. His efforts have also led to the automation of the passport application process, a move that has earned widespread acclaim from Nigerians worldwide.
Furthermore, under Tunji-Ojo’s stewardship, the Ministry of Interior is on the verge of launching E-Gates at international airports across Nigeria, marking another significant stride towards modernizing and streamlining border and immigration processes.
