The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Friday, paid his last respects to the late Kogi East Zonal Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Mikhail Suleiman Mohammed, who passed away earlier in the day.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, Governor Ododo led a high-powered delegation of government functionaries and party stalwarts to accompany the remains of the late political leader from Lokoja to his hometown, Odu-Ogboyaga, in Dekina Local Government Area, where he was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.

The solemn occasion drew an outpouring of grief and heartfelt tributes from friends, colleagues, and political associates who described the late Mikhail as a bridge-builder, a committed party man, and a humble servant of the people.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Auditor General of Kogi State, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala; the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Hilary Ojoma Egwudah; Commissioners and senior government appointees from Kogi East; and the Director General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa.

Also present were Local Government Chairmen, Divisional Party Chairmen, and a host of APC stakeholders and community leaders, who gathered to honour a man many described as “a loyal and unwavering voice for the party in the East.”

The late Hon. Mikhail Suleiman Mohammed, aged 46, passed away at his residence in Lokoja in the early hours of Friday. Until his passing, he served as the Zonal Vice Chairman of the APC in Kogi East, where he was known for his grassroots mobilization and unwavering loyalty to the party.

He is survived by his wife and six children.

As the people of Kogi East and the APC family mourn this irreparable loss, the legacy of Hon. Mikhail Suleiman Mohammed will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he impacted.
