One of the students hostels at the University of Ibadan in Oyo State has been razed by fire.
Queen Elizabeth Hall is the students’ hostel at the University that was gutted by the fire.
The hostel is occupied by only female undergraduates in the institution.
The fire incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday.
Although the cause of the fire has not been revealed as of the time of this report, the fire was stopped from escalating by firefighters in the institution.
The Director of Public Relations in the institution, Mrs. Joke Akinpelu, confirmed the development to Daily Post.
Akinpelu, while speaking in a telephone conversation, said that the office of the Hall Warden and the secretary were affected.
“Yes, it is true. The office of the Warden and the office of the Secretary of the Warden were affected.”
